Welcome to the year: 1996.
This was also the year that Kathy Miller launched Total Event Resources. And we are so proud to say that our company is now celebrating its 20th year in business!
A lot has happened in 20 years.
We’ve planned over 3,200 meetings and events that have spanned across 6 continents and 26 countries and won over 50 international awards for creativity and innovation.
We’ve seen major financial crises, like the dot com bust and the global economic downturn. We’ve weathered global health issues that have greatly impacted the industry, like SARS and more recently Zika virus. And we’ve experienced the outcome of terrorism, which has dramatically changed the way the industry looks at emergency preparedness and safety.
We have heard, many times, that the meetings and events industry is a thing of the past. The first time we heard this Total Event Resources had just opened its doors. Teleconferencing was the buzzword of the year, and the scoop was that it would replace face-to-face meetings. Then came augmented reality and then online meeting and communication spaces. Each time we saw an advancement in technology, the industry was threatened. But it’s always remained steadfast.
Because whether it’s learning how to sell a product, listening to a global message, solving problems, learning, hearing the state of the union from a CEO, nothing can replace getting people in a room together.
At Total Event Resources, we believe that every event isn’t just an event, it’s an opportunity to create a movement. And after 20 years in business, we’ve seen a lot of movements.
So, in commemoration of this incredible milestone we wanted to do something special for our clients, partners and community. Something to say “thank you” for all of your years of friendship and partnership. Something that would get people pumped up, amped up and excited.
