State-of-the-Art Facility Launched on Grand Scale


This multi-million dollar investment in the Chicago suburbs had been several years in the making. Now the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital was finally complete and ready for its grand reveal to diverse members of the local and medical community. The hospital’s opening week became a jam-packed 8-day series of guided and selfguided tours of the 6-story hospital, catered events, entertainment and celebration. Multiple breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, art auctions and community open house days were each combined with highly tailored tours. We considered every detail: from logistical flow and weather to the specific strategy for each of the 16 audiences. Risk management was extremely important, and the huge number of volunteers and staff were fully trained on emergency and evacuation procedures. Highlighting the hospital’s integration in the community, all entertainment was sourced from the local community, including neighboring towns. We worked closely with in-house catering to showcase the versatility of the hospital catering department. Delicious, upscale presentations impressed and delighted guests, and perfectly honored the festive occasion. Each of the 20 events helped the Hospital meet their goals of creating excitement, raising awareness and engaging the community.
